Welcome! This is the summary for Mad-Manic Magi-Mechanics (formerly Manic Mechanics, I genuinely hate 4J Studios), a stupid and janky tech-mod for Minecraft 1.19. I call it 4M or M4 for short, whichever sounds less irritatingly-close to a real company or firearm. It is currently unreleased, but has a ~55% complete release candidate in the works.
The core conceit of Manic Mechanics is similar to other tech-mods, in that you use automation to ease the burden of gathering and processing until you hardly need to do anything at all. The distinguishing feature is that Manic Mechanics is primarily a narrative-driven mod, where the incentives lie more in fulfilling certain thematic and progression-oriented objectives rather than empowering/complicating your vanilla experience.
The big ticket features, at least in the first content package (CP1), are the following:
- ~20+ machines with interfacing and automation
- A currently-broken logistics and sorting system!
- A live-reactive market for every item in the game, allowing you to buy and sell your way out of deficits and surpluses
- Two convoluted and intertwined processing chains involving the marriage of confusing magical processes and incomprehensible old-world technology
- A research system incentivizing the continuous production of usable data in order to unlock more powerful technology
- A host of weird-world artifacts and the capacity to reforge and reuse them for your automative purposes
- Employment, contract-work and permits!
